Upward Scrap Pricing trend Continues in March!
Scrap demand continues and pricing continues to rise for March. Scrap Pricing increased $30/ton or $1.50/CWT. in March. It is probably wise to keep inventories low as this trend should not last into the second quarter...stay tuned!
February Prices Continue to Trend Upward
Pricing for February continued the upward swing, with scrap pricing increasing $2.80/CWT. and Fuel pricing increasing another $0.20/CWT. Hopefully, March prices will stablize or decrease...stay tuned!
Base and Scrap Prices Increases in January
The new year brings in higher prices. Base prices increased $3.00/CWT. and Scrap pricing increased by $1.50/CWT. Will pricing hold? I talked to a few major mills that produce CHQ wire, and for now, they are stating the base increase will hold. It will be interesting to see what will happen as demand shrinks...stay tuned!
